The Telangana Government has granted administrative sanction for implementing Phase-II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. The second phase covering 76.4 km, will be undertaken as a joint venture between the Government of Telangana and the Centre on a 50-50 basis.
The estimated outlay of this joint venture is 24 thousand 269 crore rupees. After the Government reviewed the earlier approved Phase-II proposals and reworked them, a government order was issued yesterday.
Accordingly, the Phase-II aims at beefing up
the city’s public transportation system by extending the Metro network to cover three additional traffic corridors. The project will incorporate state-of-the-art technologies and world-class amenities to ensure optimal safety and comfort for passengers.
The newly sanctioned corridors under Part ‘A’ of Phase-II include 31 km Raidurg to Shamshabad RGI Airport, 26 km BHEL to Lakdikapul, 12 km Patny to Kandlakoya, 11 km Isnapur to Miyapur, and 8 km LB Nagar to Hayathnagar.
