Telangana govt hikes subsidy rate for disabled

The Telangana government has revised the subsidy rate and age criteria for the welfare of persons with disabilities. Now, specially-challenged people will get a subsidy up to 80 per cent for a project (unit) costing up to Rs 1 lakh, 70 per cent subsidy for a project costing upto Rs 2 lakh, and 60 per cent subsidy for a



project costing up to Rs 10 lakh with bank linkage.

Even the age criteria has been revised from 21-55 years to 18-60 years. Officials said that the move is aimed at increasing the coverage of beneficiaries and promoting socioeconomic upliftment of persons with disabilities.
