Telangana State Government will host Iftar Party to mark holy Ramzan festival on a grand scale at Nizam College Grounds on June 26, Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali has said.
After a visit to the Nizam College grounds, he said that all departments were asked to coordinate to make fool proof arrangements on the occasion. Mahamood Ali said that the Ifthar party will be conducted at 100 noted mosques in the twin cities and at major mosques in all Mandal headquarters of the districts simultaneously on June 26. The Muslim brethren can attend the same at their nearest mosques he said.
As per directive of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao efforts are made to conduct the Ramzan festival in all the mosques giving each Rs 2 lakh for festivities across the state he said. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the Government has taken a decision to



distribute clothes to about six lakhs of poor Muslims against the previous decision of giving them to 2 lakh people. Thus, three persons of a poor Muslim family will get benefit on the occasion. The TRS Government is according top priority to all festivals in the state he said adding that besides Ramzan, Bonalu, Bathukamma and Christmas festivals are being celebrated as state festivals.
ACB Chief AK Khan, who was present said that about 6000 people of different walks of life are expected to participate in the Ifthar party at Nizam College on June 26. He said that the Muslim Brethren can attend the Iftar at their nearest mosques on the same day. Water proof tents, to withstand rains, are being used at the Nizam College grounds on the day he said. Minority Secretary Omar Jaleel, Roads and Buildings Secretary Sunil Sharma and others present.
