Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday announced that the government was ready to increase the salaries of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) workers.
Replying to the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address in the Legislative Council here, he said the GHMC workers were hard working but their pay scales were not up to the mark.
“Earlier, after formation of Telagnana, the State government increased their salaries once and now I have directed the Minister for Urban Development to consider the
salary hike a second time for GHMC workers,” Rao said.
Stating that the government was employee-friendly and didn’t believe in providing half meal to any employee, he added that the government was committed to satisfy them fully. “The government will soon regularise the services of 10,000 home guards as constables as also services of another 24,000 contract employees in various departments,” the Chief Minister said, adding that employees attached to 108 service would also get to hear some good news from the government soon.
