Information Technology Minister, K Taraka Rama Rao informed that state government was implementing three dimensional strategy to protect the interest of weaving community of Sircilla, which known as Sholapur.
Besides purchasing cloths producing by the local weavers, steps have been taken to enhance production by modernizing power looms and provide marketing facilities, Minister informed while participating in 71st Independence Day celebrations held in Sircilla on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR informed that arrangements have also been made to inaugurate Apparel Park, Group Work Sheds, Common Facility Center, and Power looms modernization by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao very
soon.
With a view to provide employment to workers and owners of power looms throughout the year, the government has given Rs 225 worth order of Rajiv Vidhya Mission, government welfare schemes, KCR Kits, KGBV and Bathukamma sarees. With this, they were getting around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 salary per month.
Orders have also given to procure cloths through TESCO for the needs of various government departments and corporations, he also informed. To make workers as owners, government was sanctioning four Sanchas to each weaver on 50 percent subsidy besides construction of work shed in free of cost. About 6,000 women would get employment in Apparel Park to be established at Sardapur of Sircilla mandal by spending Rs 30 crore.
