The government will use artificial intelligence to help screen children's eyes. To this end, it will use Microsoft's cloud-based advanced analytics or the Microsoft Intelligent Network for Eyecare (MINE).Authorities announced an agreement with Microsoft India to adopt its cloud-based analytics for Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (under the National Health Mission). The state government entered into MoU with Microsoft to use its technology to drive citizen services and digital inclusion.

The MoU was preceded by a pilot project in 10 districts carried out on children from birth to the age of 18 years.The pilot is



now being scaled up to a fullfledged solution which will enable the Telangana health officials to gain valuable insights to tackle health conditions covered under the RBSK program.

Speaking about the partnership, IT minister K T Rama Rao said, “With this Telangana will be the first state in India to bring artificial intelligence in public health screening and we are excited about how technology has the potential to make great social impact.We are the first state to adopt MINE and AI based model to tackle avoidable blindness. We welcome Microsoft's partnership in this endeavour.“
