Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that the Telangana government would be allocating huge amounts to Dalit Bandhu in the 2022-23 budget, which will be placed in State Assembly on March 7.
Talking to officials and elected representatives of erstwhile Medak district during a review meeting on the Dalit Bandhu program in Sangareddy on Wednesday, the Minister said that they have initially granted Dalit Bandhu benefit to 100 beneficiaries from each of 119 assembly constituencies, Rao said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was very particular in granting of more funds to Dalit Bandhu programme in the coming budget.
Asking the elected representatives and officials to ground the already granted units by March 31, Rao
said the units must bring out the backward SCs from poverty permanently. Suggesting the officials sign an understanding with Vijaya Dairy to procure milk from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries, the Minister has enquired about the progress of selection of units in each of the Constituencies during the meeting. Earlier, the Minister has flagged off two Vaikunta Rathams at Zilla Parishad meeting hall.
