Telangana High Court on Friday directed the state election commission to consider the votes with only 'Swastik' mark on the ballot paper. "Votes with the Swastik mark can be considered as a legitimate vote," said the court dismissing the EC orders which said any mark on the ballot paper will be considered.
After directing the EC, the court also asked the election commission to issue notices to all the counting centres to consider the
votes only with 'Swastik' mark and adjourned the matter to December 7. The court further asked EC to file a counter-affidavit regarding the circular with complete details.
The court dealt with the house motion petition moved by the BJP which challenged the EC orders to consider votes with any mark on the ballot paper. The party appealed to the court to cancel the notice issued by the EC.
