Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Friday directed the state and its SSC board to postpone all the SSC exams scheduled to be held from March 23 to March 30. The HC however allowed Saturday’s (March 21) exam to be held as per schedule.

As the SSC exams were planned to be conducted till April 6, state has to assess the situation and accordingly renotify the exam schedule.

The bench of chief justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and justice A Abhishek Reddy gave this direction while hearing a public interest petition filed by M Balakrishna of Secunderabad challenging the decision of the SSC board to go ahead with its schedule (



spread over a 3 week period from March 19 to April 6) as announced by the board in the past.

Expressing several apprehensions in view of the prevailing corona threat that is looming large over the state, the petitioner sought the intervention of the court. Kowturu Pavan Kumar, his counsel urged the court to direct the authorities to review their decision in this regard. The bench directed the authorities to postpone all SSC exams scheduled to be held between March 23 to March 31.

A high level committee must review corona related health situation by March 29 and decide the further course on renotifying the stalled exams, the bench said.
