Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday reserved orders in two separate criminal petitions filed to quash FIRs against officials of the AP Mahesh Cooperative Urban Bank. The criminal complaints were filed by the AP Mahesh Cooperative Urban Bank Shareholders Welfare Association through its Secretary Shyam Sunder Biyani before the Metropolitan Magistrate at Hyderabad.

The allegations ranged from illegal disbursement of loans to irregularities in the election

conducted for the executive posts of the bank. The issues raised in the complaint are also being adjudicated by the court in a writ petition filed by the same complainant and the court had, through an interim order, directed the release of the election results.

The petitioner’s counsel stated that there has been an abuse in the process of law followed by the police in registering these FIRs as the same averments are also being heard by the court.
