A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court, comprising Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B Vijaysen Reddy, on Friday directed the Pollution Control Board to file a detailed report on certain local companies running at Shastriyapuram. The appeal was filed by the GHMC challenging an order of a single judge permitting restoration of electricity connection to the companies. The GHMC contended that these companies were causing
pollution.
Though the counsel representing companies said they were only involved in trading, the GHMC complained that they were burning plastic and rubber, causing pollution. The panel directed the registry to post this case along with the batch matter concerning pollution by companies in the Shastriyapuram residential area and adjourned the case to April 15.
