Justice K Lakshman has quashed the case filed against former Minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy in connection with an alleged violation of election laws during the 2023 Assembly elections.

The case was registered by the Nagarkurnool police on November 26, 2023, after a complaint was filed stating that Janardhan Reddy had organised a meeting and rally with nearly 300 people near the Ambedkar statue in Sripuram village, Nagarkurnool district, around 9:30 pm without prior

permission. The complaint mentioned that the rally was conducted without approval, during the election code of conduct, and in favor of the BRS party, which was a violation of the law.

Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s counsel argued that the FIR was filed without proper evidence and that case was filed without authority. Justice Lakshman, after considering the arguments, ruled in favour of Reddy and quashed the FIR.
