Adilabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy on Monday exuded confidence that the party would form the government in Telangana in the next election and expose the alleged wrongdoings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the coming 20 months.
Speaking at the Dalit-Girijana Athmagourava Dandora held at the historic Indervelli mandal centre, Revanth Reddy alleged that Chandrasekhar Rao had not fulfilled the 2018 poll promises.
“Chandrasekhar Rao remembers Dalits and tribals only during election time,” he said and wondered why Dalits and tribals of Adilabad district were not covered under the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme. “Telangana is reeling under financial crisis and four crore citizens now have debts of Rs 1 lakh each,” he said.
Stating that Congress would
extend all support to families of martyrs of the infamous Indravelli firing incident if it comes to power, the Congress leader equated Telangana Talli to party president Sonia Gandhi who, he claimed, was responsible for the creation of Telangana State.
“There is a need for Dalits and tribals to be in power. We will hold a similar meeting in Ibrahimpatnam near Hyderabad on August 18,” he said.
AICC secretary Srinivasan, member Gandrath Sujatha, legislator D Sridhar Babu, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former MLA Jeevan Reddy, leaders Damodara Rajanarasimha, Geetha Reddy, Mallu Ravi, Maheshwar Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Madhu Yaski Goud, Former MLC Premsagar Rao, DCC presidents Sajid Khan, K Surekha, Ramarao Patel, Vishwaprasad and many others were present.
