Telangana Jagruthi will not hold Bathukamma this year

Telangana Jagruthi founder-president K Kavitha on Friday said that the organisation would not organise Bathukamma festivities this year like it has been doing in the last few years. Since assembly elections were being held this year, she said Telangana Jagruthi would not be organising the festivities.

The Nizamabad MP also clarified that Telangana Jagruthi had never received any



funds from the state government for organising the festivities. In a statement, she said that she was hurt when the opposition was making allegations that Telangana Jagruthi got funds from the government.

Kavitha urged women folk in Telangana to celebrate Bathukamma this year too though Telangana Jagruthi would not be involved.
