The Congress and the Prof. M. Kodandaram-led Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) have decided to work together in the Assembly elections and dethrone the BRS government.

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday went to the TJS office in Nampally and met Prof. Kodandaram to seek his party's support. He assured that the Congress would give due priority to TJS if it came to power.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Reddy said that Prof. Kodandaram had been waging a battle against the 'dictatorial and corrupt' BRS government of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He said the TJS support was needed to uproot the 'undemocratic' BRS government.

The Congress leader alleged that the

BRS government was tapping phones of Congress leaders and had hired professionals to hack their phones. He accused BRS leaders of threatening supporters and sympathisers of Congress, including businessmen, of dire consequences if they backed Congress.

Revanth Reddy accused AIMIM chief Asadudddin Owaisi of hatching a conspiracy with the BRS to prevent Congress from coming to power.

He said that after the Karnataka Assembly results, Owaisi feared that the Congress would repeat the same magic in Telangana. To prevent this, he was trying to split the minority vote to the benefit of the BRS in the Assembly polls and the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
