Krishnakriti Foundation and art@telangana will be organising a two-day Telangana Kala Mela at Peoples’ Plaza on November 5 and 6. The mela will be open to public from 11 am to 7 pm and entry is free.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, art@telangana Trustee Papa Rao informed that the Kala Mela would be inaugurated by IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and attended by Minister for Culture & Tourism Azmeera Chandulal, Dr KV Ramanachary (advisor to government), Bonthu Rammohan (GHMC Mayor), Dr B Janardhan Reddy (GHMC Commissioner),
Padmashri Jagdish
Mittal (art connoisseur) and eminent artists Padmashri K Laxma Goud, Suryaprakash and Thota Vaikuntham. Krishnakriti Foundation trustee Prshant Lahoti, who was also present, said that the aim of the Mela was to bring the art to the public and provide a conducive platform to the artists from the Telangana region.
The Mela will have more than 100 stalls with various artists displaying their work and working on site for 2 days. Traditional art styles of Telangana such as Nakashi, Cheriyal, Nirmal will be demonstrated by artists specialising in these techniques.
