Karimnagar: Election authorities have started the elimination process as no candidate got the mandatory majority in the counting of first priority votes polled for the Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad graduates’ constituency.
In the first priority, 2,23,343 valid votes were counted in eleven rounds. While BJP candidate Anji Reddy got the highest of 75675 votes,
Congress aspirant V Narender Reddy secured 70,565 votes and BSP candidate Prasanna Harikrishna got 60,419 votes.
Since 2,23,343 votes were found valid, a candidate has to get majority votes (1,11,672) to be declared as winner. However, no candidate got majority votes. So, the officials have started the elimination process.
