Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has directed officials and people to remain cautious for the next two days. Heavy rains have been lashing several places across the State for the past two days due to deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.

The Chief Minister also instructed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to place the entire administration on high vigilance and to monitor the situation in coordination with District Collectors, Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners at regular intervals for taking up

necessary relief measures. The officials have been directed to remain stationed in their headquarters and respond to people so as to avert unnecessary loss to lives and property.

The IMD has issued a warning that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over isolated parts of Telangana state especially in the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal and Khammam. Massive flooding and water-logging is anticipated in low-lying areas.
