Telangana State will become a hub of air connectivity as the government has come out with the proposal of setting up of air strips or mini airports in all the districts mainly Peddapalli, Mahabubnagar, Bhopallpalli, Adilabad, Khammam and Nizamabad.

The Telangana State Aviation Academy has been instructed to conduct a feasibility study for taking up the projects under Aviation Infrastructure Development Programme launched by the Union government recently.

State Chief Secretary SK Joshi held a meeting with the officials of the aviation academy attended by its Secretary Captain SN Reddy here on Thursday. The official asked Reddy to prepare



draft proposals for the establishment of mini airports in the identified district in the first phase and submit the same to the government in a month. 

The academy official was informed about the status of the airways infrastructure developed in public and private sector in Telangana.  The Chief Secretary said that the Centre has come forward to extend assistance to the state in the development of new airports under the aviation development scheme.  The increasing number of tourists from domestic and foreign countries is creating a big potential in the air ways business in the state.
