Telangana has secured investment commitments of about 11 thousand crore rupees in the life sciences sector, with the potential to create over 22 thousand jobs. The announcements were made at the BioAsia 2025, a life sciences and healthcare forum commenced yesterday in Hyderabad. The annual BioAsia forum brings together industry representatives, scientists, innovators, and policymakers to discuss developments in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and technology.
A major chunk of the investments is proposed in the state’s Green Pharma City initiative, with 17 MoUs signed between the Telangana government and companies like Granules,
Orbicular, Aizant, Biological E, Virchow, Jubilant, Bharat Biotech, and Sai Life Sciences. An official release stated that these agreements account for over five thousand crore rupees in investments and are expected to generate over nine thousand jobs.
Inaugurating the 22nd edition of BioAsia, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said these investments reaffirm Telangana’s position as a leading destination for life sciences, pharma, and biotech. He said the government is committed to providing world-class infrastructure and policies that support innovation, research, and job creation in the sector.
