The Telangana government on Thursday said they will fight till to get their share in Godavari and Krishna waters. Telangana irrigation officials said when it comes to Kaleshwaram project, AP says they don’t have water in Godavari, but otherwise they have enough water in Godavari.
The Union ministry of Water Resources on Thursday held a high-level meeting with Telangana and AP officials to resolve water dispute.
Telangana said their share must be decided before
finalizing Krishna, Godavari boards. Telangana chief secretary SK Joshi said a working arrangement was made for one year to utilize 512 tmc ft water from Krishna by AP and 299 tmc ft by Telangana. But no efforts are made to make final allocations in past four years.
Irrigation officials alleged AP of constructing irrigation projects without permission, especially Pattiseema project. It said several villages in Telangana would submerge because of Polavaram project.
