The state government
has decided to give RuPay cards to all the bank account holders for encouraging
currency-less transactions in the state. RuPay is an Indian domestic card
scheme conceived and launched by the National Payments Corporation of India
(NPCI).
The state government
issued guidelines to district collectors to keep one government officer as in
charge of every 100 to 200 families covering the
population of 500 to 1,000, so
that the government will have personal contact with families and close
coordination with banks. This is to “revolutionise cashless economy in rural
areas.”
As per the action points prepared for the implementation of district collectors, which was discussed in the state Cabinet on Monday, internet connectivity in interior rural and tribal areas would be strengthened.
