Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao was addressing a massive gathering during the Gram Sabha at Mooduchintalapalle in Medchal district, Rao said Telangana registered 21.7 per cent growth rate in terms of revenue and the State stood first in the country in this regard. He asked people to cooperate with the government in maintaining the growth rate.

“Telangana is a new State and we can progress only when we work in unison. I am a realistic person and do not want to misguide you (people) and, hence, want your cooperation in ensuring that there are no irregularities in finalising land records. Members of farmers’ federations and local authorities will be responsible for any irregularities,” he said.

The government was developing a new land registration and mutation

system wherein farmers need not visit government offices for land registration or mutation, Rao said. While mandal Revenue Officers (ROs) will be authorised to conduct land mutation, Sub-Registrars will coordinate with them during land registrations and courier the documents to farmers.

The Chief Minister also assured supply of Godavari River water for irrigation from Kondapochamma Sagar and said plans were afoot to cultivate around 40 lakh acres under Godavari River in Telangana from next year. “The government will provide water, quality power and agriculture capital of Rs 8,000 from next year in May and October, besides streamlining land records. Once these are achieved, it is the responsibility of farmers to grow good crops and ensure the growth of Telangana,” he said.
