Government has decided to appoint teachers on contract or outsourcing basis for the new residential schools proposed since recruitment of regular teachers through Telangana State Public Service Commission would take a minimum of three to four months.
“The TSPSC is asked to issue a fresh notification for recruitment of teachers. Qualified regular teachers will be appointed at the earliest”, said Deputy Chief Minister, Kadiam Srihari.
Intervening during a question on BC residential schools, he informed the Legislative Council on Wednesday that government proposed to appoint 8000 teachers by June but
following representation from a section of students to relax certain conditions, the notification was withdrawn, he said.
Earlier, to a question by Bodakunti Venkateswarlu, V. Gangadhar Goud (TRS), BC Welfare Minister, Jogu Ramanna, said government proposed to set up 119 new residential schools for BCs, one in each Assembly constituency. Administrative sanction for the same had already been given.
