New Delhi: The Telangana government is planning to attract “repeat travellers” who look for new destinations with an aim to boost its tourism sector.
“In less than three years after bifurcation, Telangana tourism has been able to grow tremendously, particularly with Hyderabad’s elevation as world’s fifth dynamic city,” Telangana Tourism Commissioner Sunitha M Bhagwat said on Monday.
Speaking at a “road show” organised by the state tourism department here, she said Telangana government was also clubbing with tour operators
across the country for the purpose.
“During the first visit, travellers usually ask the operators about places like Golden Triangle, Kerala, Shimla and other such destinations. But when they come back the next time they would want something new. At this point operators can present Telangana as the new destination,” said Bhagwat.
The road show which had started at Lucknow last month and held at other places like Chandigarh and Jaipur, concluded here, with over 100 tourism operators from in and around Delhi taking part in the event.
