Telangana to Form Committee to Study Supreme Court’s Judgement on SC/ST Subclassification

The Telangana Government has decided to constitute a committee to carefully study the judgement delivered by the Seven Judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court last month, relating to subclassification within the SC/ST reserved categories. The committee will examine various aspects associated with the issue to provide recommendations. 

The committee chaired by State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Health



Minister D Raja Narasimha will Co-Chair while Minister Sridhar Babu, P Prabhakar and D Anasuya and MP Dr Mallu Ravi will be members and the Principal Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Development Department will act as the convener for this committee. The committee will thoroughly study the matter and provide recommendations on the way forward for the state Government regarding the sub-classification.
