The state government has decided to give extra one lakh agriculture power connections to farmers taking the total connections to more than 21 lakh. This would cost the exchequer Rs 600 crore.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, at a review meeting here on Tuesday, directed the officials to clear pending applications for new agriculture
pump sets. “Around 97,000 applications have been pending for the last five years in TS. We require Rs 600 crore for giving connections to all these farmers. Besides clearing the pending applications, give connections to around 30,000 more farmers who are likely to apply in the next few month,” Rao directed Transco and Genco officials.
