Ration cards were not issued for 10 years by the previous BRS government. Even deletions and additions of names in the ration cards were not allowed. This had left many newly married couples and their kids in the lurch. Denial of ration cards also resulted in the people being denied government schemes linked to ration cards. The BRS had issued a few cards during the Huzurabad and Munugode by lections only in these constituencies.
