Chief Minister K
Chandrashekhar Rao felt that both the Centre and State government should
prepare a combined action plan reaching out to the students and youths going
abroad in pursuit of higher education and in search of jobs.
Indian Embassies and High Commissions abroad should be strengthened so that the needy would be able to get prompt response from the authorities concerned.Since there are a good number of people leaving to other countries from Telangana, the government will open a Foreign Bhavan here to offer services to the NRIs. The State government would provide land for the proposed office.
Secretary External Affairs Dnyaneshwar Mulay met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan here on Saturday. In this context, they have discussed the role to be played by the Centre and States in helping people bound to overseas destinations as well as those living abroad.
Both the governments agreed to act immediately to help those who were duped by agents offering jobs abroad and those facing problems in foreign countries. The government should immediately act, said the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also gave some suggestions on the foreign affairs.

the Telangana who are going abroad for education and employment. Some of them
are cheated by the agents while some others landed in cases. Some are kidnapped
or met with accidents. The responsibility of extending help to such people
rests with the government. Due to encouragement given through FDIs, there is
lot of foreign investment coming into our country and many foreign nationals
are visiting and residing here. The government should also take care of them
and help them when needed. There is a need to strengthen the foreign diplomatic
missions in our country and foreign offices should also be opened in the
States. Our government is ready to allot land for the Foreign Bhavan and we
extend all the help for the external affairs staff working here. We are ready
to work with the Centre in this respect.” the CM said and asked the external
affairs officials to have a discussion with Minister KT Rama Rao in this
regard.
“The country is fast developing as a powerful economy. We are among the six largest and robust economies in the world. We have excellent relations with other countries. There are more imports and exports happening. Relations between the institutions, organisations and even individuals are strengthening. This makes the External Affairs Ministry more important and its activities have also expanded. There is a need to create awareness among the people who are going to Gulf for jobs and for those going to other countries for higher studies. If the government guides these people, there is a less chance of them being cheated,” the CM said.
