Irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the BRS government was neck-deep in corruption going by reports from all departments. He opined that the state's wealth has gone into the pockets of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family.

Interacting with the media after visiting a temple in Mellacheruvu in Suryapet district, he said, "The state was looted by the KCR family for ten years with never before heard of irregularities and encroachments. The Kaleshwaram project built with a huge debt of Rs 93,000 crore has had piers sinking in Medigadda. The state is now burdened with Rs 6,60,000 crore debt."

He said that blackmarketing of rice supplied by the civil supplies department was rampant earlier. He warned of stringent action against all those guilty of this malpractice. The department will be revamped and a transparent administration will be ensured soon, Reddy

said.

The schedule for Parliament polls will be given in the second week of February and the Congress will win 13 to 14 seats, including Nalgonda with a three-lakh majority, he said.

On the development of Huzurnagar, he said, "I have the distinction of serving it for the seventh time now. The constituency will be fully developed. Even the Shiva temple in Mellacheruvu was not spared by the BRS men. Scams of `two crore in the Mellacheruvu gram panchayat and Rs 75 lakh in the Matampalli panchayat have come to light now.

The lifts for water in Kodad and Huzurnagar constituencies are being repaired and proposals for new ones have been made. We will see that the burden of repairs does not fall on the farmers."

The minister flayed the Centre for consecrating an incomplete Lord Rama temple at Ayodhya and opined that this was being done with an eye on elections.
