As the Telangana Rashtra Samiti gears up to celebrate its 16th Foundation Day, all eyes will be on party chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who will address a massive rally in Warangal today.
The TRS chief's rally comes in the backdrop of Prime Minister's push for holding Parliamentary and Assembly elections simultaneously, and a growing buzz on early election in Telangana.
TRS party leaders have mobilised thousands of farmers from across the state for the rally.
DRUMMING UP SUPPORT
Taking a pro-farmer posture ahead of the election, K Chandrasekhar Rao government recently waived off farm loans and announced Rs 4,000 per acre to farmers under the 'free-fertilizer scheme'.
TRS party workers said farmers are coming to attend the
rally to express their gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Besides farmers, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti is also expecting participation of people from minority communities after the K Chandrasekhar Rao government passed a bill to increase reservation in jobs and education for backward Muslims to 12 per cent.
WARANGAL TURNS PINK
Warangal has turned pink--the party colour--for the TRS Foundation Day celebrations. Posters, banners of the party chief have been put across the city.
The choice of Warangal as the celebration site is significant in Telangana politics as it was here that the TRS had held a massive public meeting on December 16, 2010 demanding a separate state. The meeting was reportedly attended by more than 20 lakh people.
