The city of Nawabs would soon join the ranks of Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong if the Telangana government succeeds in attracting the leading amusement park giant Disneyland to establish its state-of-the-art theme parks and adventure rides here.
Officials in the knowledge of the development said though talks are a preliminary stage, they could succeed in convincing a senior business team from Disneyland Park to come forward with concrete proposals for establishing the project. "We met the team couple of weeks back in New Delhi and gave a bouquet of offers for them to set up an amusement park in Ranga Reddy district and informed them about the availability of ready-to-use manpower and technical expertise to meet their operational standards," sources said.
We also informed them about the incentives being offered
to industrialists coming to Telangana and those making investments in tourism projects and creating local jobs. A foreign private investor too has evinced interest in setting up Disneyland in Telangana on the lines of the existing one in Hong Kong," sources said.
Disneylands attracts lakhs of visitors across the world every year. There is a Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, both in the US. A senior source in the Telangana government said that the project was at a preliminary, yet encouraging stage. "We will share details as and when things materialise.
Since the project needs land in the range of 300 and 1300 acre, officials have identified certain smaller land in Ranga Reddy and the larger ones in Nalgonda district to meet the requirements of the amusement park.
