A Telugu youth who was reported missing for the last two days from Phoenix, Texas, was found dead in what is being said to be a case of suicide.

Abhishek Kolli, who reportedly hailed from Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, was reported missing on Saturday, from Phoenix, where he was last seen. He is said to have been found dead on Sunday. Abhishek’s brother Aravind Kolli stated in a post on gofundme.com that his passing on Sunday wasn’t just a tragedy.

“It was a devastating consequence of the overwhelming financial crisis he faced and unforeseen circumstances. A burden that grew too heavy for him eventually made him take his own life. Despite his strength and resilience, the weight of those struggles took him from us, leaving our family shattered and grappling with both grief and the same financial strain that haunted him. Now, we’re faced with the added challenge of giving him a proper farewell — something he deserves more than anything, but something we can’t manage alone. This GoFundMe is to help cover the costs of Abhishek’s funeral services and the expenses of transporting him to India. We want to honor his memory with dignity,

without the shadow of financial worry hanging over us,” he posted, with the same drawing in over $10,000 in less than 10 hours.

Earlier, according to local media reports, authorities and concerned citizens were actively searching for Abhishek after he disappeared under what were called “unclear circumstances”.

Reports said that he was last seen wearing a distinctive yellow dress, and that his disappearance was particularly concerning to his family and friends. They described him as someone who was “friendly, outgoing, and deeply connected to his community”.

“Local law enforcement officials have been notified and are leading the investigation into Abhishek’s disappearance. They have initiated a comprehensive search in the areas around Princeton, TX, and are working closely with volunteers who have organized search parties. The community response has been heartening, as many residents have come forward to lend their support in any way they can — whether it be joining search efforts, distributing flyers with Abhishek’s image, or spreading the word through social media,” one post on social media said.
