There was no rainfall recorded in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Moreover, the city experienced sweltering heat as the mercury rose to 37.8 degrees Celsius.
The heat was an unexpected 4.5 degrees Celsius higher than normal for this time of the year. Similar conditions were predicted for the city for Thursday, since there was no rainfall in most parts of Telangana, with the Southwest Monsoon becoming
weak.
For the rest of the week, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said no or little rainfall was expected. For Thursday, the mercury was expected to remain high again, not going below 36 degrees Celsius.
However, IMD officials said there might be brief spells of light rain in some parts on Thursday.
