Tension in Old City over statue installation

Goshamahal MLA and BJP leader Raja Singh suffered serious head injuries after the police resorted to lathi charge on him at Jumerat Bazar in the city here late on Wednesday night. 

The police interrupted Raja Singh and his supporters while they tried to erect the statue of freedom fighter Rani Avanti Bai Lodh at Jumet Bazar following the BJP leaders pelted stones on the



police.

To bring the situation under control, the police resorted to lathi charge on the MLA and the other leaders. Raja Singh was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. 

The MLA vented out anger over the police and alleged that the police attacked them without any reason. Raja Singh also said that he will complain to DGP over the issue.
