Tension in Saidabad area

Mild tensions prevailed in Saidabad area of old city following a road accident involving members of two different communities.

The incident happened at around 10:30 pm when a two wheeler rider hit a pedestrian resulting in injuries to him. Soon people from both the communities gathered in large numbers within minutes. Some miscreants pelted stones at each



other.

 

Police from nearby Saidabad Police station rushed to the spot and tried to disburse the mob, however, as the gathering was huge the police sought assistance from other police station and with in half an hour brought the situation under control.

Senior police officials visited the spot.
