TGSRTC plans to introduce 286 electric buses in capital region

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is planning to introduce another 286 electric buses in the city in the first half of this year. Steps were being taken to have these buses on different routes that have good demand by May.

Presently, as many as



254 electric buses are running with an average occupancy of 80 per cent in the city.

The TGSRTC, which aims to run as many as 2,500 electric buses by reducing the number of diesel buses in phases, is taking steps towards a pollution-free public transport in the city.
