The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has made special arrangements for those going to their hometowns on the occasion of Sankranti. It has decided to run 6,432 special buses of which, advance reservation facility has been provided for 557 services.
While 4,484 special buses were planned for last Sankranti, the corporation operated about 5246 buses in view of the passenger rush. In view of this, 6,432 special buses have been arranged this time which will be available to passengers from January 9 to 15.
RTC officials said these special buses will operate from MGBS, JBS, Uppal, Aramgarh, LB Nagar, KPHB, Bowenpally, Gachibowli, etc. It is planned to make electric buses available to
passengers from Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal.
Special buses are also being operated from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh mainly to Amalapuram, Kakinada, Kandukur, Narsapuram, Polavaram, Rajahmundry, Razole, Udayagiri, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Ongole, Guntur, Vijayawada, Srisailam, Tirupati, etc.
Also, RTC officials reiterated that free bus transport facility will be in place for women in Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses running for Sankranti as part of the state government’s Mahalaxmi scheme.
