After several warm winter nights, temperatures in the city have plummeted again. An average minimum temperature of 15.3 degree Celsius was recorded in the early hours of Monday. The lowest minimum temperature of 11.9 degree Celsius was recorded at Serilingampally.
According to the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), night temperatures might fall further in the coming days. Localities situated towards the outskirts of the city, such as Kapra, Hayathnagar, Uppal, Malakpet and Falaknuma might witness a drop in the temperature on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Officials at the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, said the night temperature in the city might dip by two to three degrees, and was likely to range from 11 degree Celsius to 15 degree Celsius. IMD has issued a three-day yellow alert for the city.
The night temperature in several districts of Telangana was also below the normal range. On
Monday, Kumram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10.9 degree Celsius. It is likely that the temperature at many places, including Medchal-Malkajgiri, Nirmal, Jangaon, Siddipet and Vikarabad might dip by three to four degrees in the next couple of days. IMD-H has issued a yellow alert for over 20 districts of Telangana for the next three days.
