Three elevated corridors will be coming up at Aram Garh, Uppal and LB Nagar at an estimated cost of Rs.1,00 crore.Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari sanctioned the three projects after Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao and senior officials met him in New Delhi.
In addition to the Rs.4500 crore approved for the State as per the 2017-18 annual plan, the central government cleared the three projects, approving total Rs.5900 crore for the State, said Road and Buildings Minister T Nageswara Rao during a meeting with R&B officials here on Tuesday.
These projects were sidelined in the past but Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was very particular about taking
up these projects to address the traffic woes in the respective areas, he said.In addition to the elevated corridors, the Central government has also sanctioned two economic corridors. While the Narketpalli – Nalgonda- Tipparthi- Miryalguda – Kondrapolu- Pondugula corridor will be covering over 98 kms, the Jedcharla-Damagnapur- Karnataka border will be spread over109 kms.
In view of National Highway Authority of India taking up road works in different areas, Mr. Rao suggested few measures to officials in overcoming land acquisition and other hurdles.
He directed the District Collectors to expedite the land acquisition process, facilitating the early completion of works.
