Three killed, 15 injured in tractor accident in Gadwal

Jogulamba Gadwal: In a very tragic incident, three people died on Monday night, when a tractor carrying 15 people overturned near Jinkalapadu stage in Itikyala mandal on national highway 44. All the people travelling in the tractor were related to each other.

Mallukarjun (40), his family members and close relatives, all residents of Potlapadu village of Manopad mandal; were on their way to participate in a religious event in Jammichedu village of Gadwal mandal.

They wanted to reach Jammichedu a night in advance to do the preparatory works by Tuesday morning, when the event was supposed to be



held.

As the tractor they were travelling in reached close to Jinkalapadu stage, the driver lost control of the vehicle, tossing the vehicle and all the passengers off the road. The vehicle fell inside a roadside ditch crushing the passengers sitting on it.

Mallikarjun (40), Parvathamma (40) and Pratyusha (12) died on the spot and another 12 people were grievously injured. All the injured were shifted to Kurnool Government Hospital for emergency care. The condition of eight people was known to be critical, according to doctors at the hospital.
