Hyderabad city which is reeling under warm and humid weather conditions over the last one week is likely to receive thundershowers in the next three days.
Since the beginning of October, the city has been experiencing a summer kind of weather due to the withdrawal of southwest monsoon. This has resulted in sultry conditions with mercury levels soaring close to 35 degrees almost every day for the last one week.
However, the forecast with India Meteorological Department shows that rain or thundershowers could occur towards evening or night in the city till October
17.
“Northeast monsoon is all set to begin and if low pressure is formed during this period, we can expect some rains in the city. Moreover, as cyclone ‘Titli’ hit parts of Andhra Pradesh, it might have effect to some extent in Telangana”, a senior official said.
On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius.
The mercury levels raising close to 35 degrees Celsius is due to lack of rainfall, apart from warm conditions prevailing in Hyderabad, Met officials said.
