The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said the State will witness heat wave conditions in many districts. It also said thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning are also very likely to occur in isolated places.
On Friday, several areas witnessed temperatures hovering above 42 degree Celsius.
According to Telangana State Development Planning Society, Bahadurpura recorded a highest temperature with 42.8 degree Celsius on Friday followed by Asmanghad (42.3 degree Celsius), Kandikal Gate (42.2 degree Celsius) and Srinagar Colony (42.1 degree Celsius).
The IMD said the districts of
Adilabad, Kumrum-Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Mancherial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet and Nalgonda are expected to experience heat wave conditions on Saturday. “Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana,” it said.
For Sunday and Monday, the IMD predicted that the heat wave conditions are likely to dissipate with isolated light rain to moderate thunderstorms in the State. The weatherman also accompanied this with warnings of severe thunderstorms and gusty winds for the two days.
