Severe thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Friday evening, halting normal life and triggering a significant drop in temperatures.

Initially, severe thunderstorms started in the western parts of Hyderabad and covered Nanakaramguda, Manikonda, Shaikpet, Narsingi, Bandlaguda and Rajendranagar. Within minutes, the thunderstorms gained in intensity and spread to cover Kokapet, Nizampet, Gachibowli and Hitec City areas.

Soon after, the thunderstorms started covering almost all regions of Hyderabad including North-Eastern regions like Alwal, Trimulgherry, Karkhana,



Sainikpuri, ECIL etc.

The coverage of thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds, extensively covered Malakpet, Chaderghat, Saidabad, Santoshnagar, Champapet, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, Kothapet and neighboring regions.

Intense winds also led to uprooting of trees at several regions, including Madina Building near High Court, which triggered a traffic jam.

Heavy thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds also hit Begumpet, Ameerpet, Somajiguda, Paradise and CTC flyover. The entire traffic in the busy section came to a standstill, as two-wheeler riders took shelter to avoid the heavy winds and rain.
