Intensive ticket checking drive was conducted in the suburban sections of MMTS - Secunderabad/Hyderabad-Lingampalli and Secunderabad-Faluknama - from February 10 to 12 to curb ticketless / irregular travel and to ensure comfortable and safe journey of bona fide rail passengers.
The check was conducted under the direct supervision of M Papi Reddy, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway. Commercial officers of SCR headquarters and Secunderabad, Hyderabad divisions also associated in the drive. He also advised the passengers to utilise the facility of ATVMs available
at stations for purchasing tickets. He further requested passengers to use the recently launched “Mobile Application for Paperless Unreserved Tickets” which provides seamless ticketing facility for suburban rail users through smart phones.
The check was undertaken by 130 ticket checking staff, supplemented by 41 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel. A total of 639 persons were penalised for travelling without tickets and 135 cases of unbooked luggage were detected. An amount of Rs.1,93,360 was realised towards penalty during the three day intensive ticket checking drive.
