Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Uttam Kumar Reddy here on Friday lashed out at the TRS government for showering sops to the Hyderabad citizens all of a sudden for deriving political benefit in the ensuing elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan along with party working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarkha, vice-president Nagaiah and Congress NRI Cell chairman Vinod, Uttam Kumar Reddy accused the ruling party of cheating the people by making a string of promises keeping the GHMC elections in view. He also questioned the ruling party as to why it was not fulfilling its pre-poll promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslim Minorities. Alleging that the TRS government was not caring to implement reservations even as it released a recruitment notification for filling vacant posts and admissions were going on in the educational institutions, the TPCC chief asked the MIM party as to why it remained tightlipped on these long-pending issues.

Stating that electioneering would begin from Sunday, the TPCC president said they would announce party candidates four or five days after announcement of the GHMC poll schedule. He also made it clear that they would give priority to allot tickets to settlers and Muslims in their dominated areas.
The TPCC chief also alleged that the ruling party was utilizing government buildings for election publicity and showering sops to the people for political benefit in utter violation of the Election Code. He disclosed that they have already lodged a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard and would lodge another complaint soon. He also disclosed that his party was ready to align with the like-minded political parties for the GHMC elections.
