Tight security for Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad

As many as 10,000 police personnel drawn from various wings of the city police and 20 platoons of central forces will be deployed for the peaceful conduct of the procession to be held as part of Sri Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations on Friday.

As part of making arrangements, City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar along with GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore, on Wednesday inspected the 12-kilometre procession route from Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda to Sri Hanuman Temple in Tadbund.

 

Along the route, close to 450 closed circuit cameras will be installed to enable police monitor the procession at the zonal level and at the Command and Control Centre at Police Commissioner’s office in Basheerbagh.

The Police Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to ensure that all places of worships are curtained to prevent unsocial elements from exploiting the situation. He asked the ACPs to post pickets near religious places on the procession route and sensitive localities.

Meanwhile, the traffic police organised a meeting to plan arrangements to be made for Hanuman Jayanthi procession from Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda to Sri Hanuman Temple in Tadbund.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar along with Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) K Babu Rao and L S Chawhan, conducted the meeting with all ACPs and Inspectors.

Anil Kumar instructed the sector officers to



personally visit the route and check if there were any obstructions and take measures to resolve issues to ensure free passage for procession.

He also asked all the officers to brief the sector men properly about their duties and responsibilities. Instructions were also issued to give clearance to ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Anil Kumar reviewed the places of traffic diversion points for vehicular traffic and instructed the staff to make barricading arrangements and place signage’s at the locations where diversions were enforced.

This will enable vehicle owners to take alternative routes to reach their destination. The mobile Variable Message Boards (VMBs) will be used for dissemination of traffic and procession related information to the public. The Google map will also show routes and diversion points with time to time updates.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is making elaborate arrangements for Shobha yatra to be held on Friday.

GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore along with City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar ,inspected the procession route on Wednesday.

The Commissioner said additional staff was being deployed to take up road repairs on the procession route, besides ensuring hygiene and sanitation. Additional street lights were being installed and water sachets distribution was also being arranged for the convenience of public, he said.
