About 500 police personnel, including 200 Rapid Action Force personnel, will be deployed in Puranapul division as part of the bandobast for GHMC re-poll on Friday.
The State Election Commission ordered re-polling in all the 36 polling booths in the Puranapul division following complaints of irregularities during the GHMC elections on Tuesday.  Hyderabad Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, who visited the Puranapul area and reviewed the security arrangements along with other senior officials, told the

presspersons that 17 check-posts are being set up in the area to prevent the entry of outsiders.
“No public representative will be allowed to move in the area. Only the contestants and their election agents can go to the polling stations. Action will be initiated against any outsider who tries to enter the Puranapul division for disturbing the poll process,” he said.
The 36 polling stations are located in 13 buildings in Doodhbowli, Pardhiwada, Hussainialam, Kabutarkhana and Puranapul localities.
