The Congress in Jogulamba-Gadwal district suffered a serious setback with the District Congress Committee president, along with several other leaders from his party, joining the Bharat Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday.
Leading the top level exodus was Patel Prabhakar Reddy who said it has become impossible to stay in the Congress as the party’s leadership, which was selling MLA tickets, could no longer be trusted. "We have lost faith in that party and decided that as we stand for development of the state, we should join the BRS led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao," he said after being welcomed into BRS by minister T. Harish Rao
at an event in Telangana Bhavan, the BRS party headquarters.
He said he and others joining the BRS will work for the victory of BRS candidates in the coming election and contribute to making Chandrashekar Rao the Chief Minister for the third time.
Harish Rao, welcoming the Congress leaders into BRS, said, "Any development that Gadwal district witnessed was a result of work done by the BRS government and in future too this can continue only if the BRS returns to power. Let us all work together to ensure all BRS candidates register wins in the district"
