Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has extended Rs.5 lakh financial assistance to the family of scholar Vemula Rohit, who committed suicide on January 17 at Hyderabad Central University. On Tuesday, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kuamar Reddy
has handed over Rs.5 lakh cheque to the family of Rohit at Hyderabad Central University.
On the other hand, Rohit’s father Manikumar, speaking to some section of the media, has said that his son Rohit was not a Dalit but a BC. He also found fault with the authorities for linking Rohit’s caste with his suicide and demanded the government to order an inquiry into the death. “My son was not a coward to commit suicide”, he alleged.
